YOGA WITH JULIETTE
Juliette first sampled yoga in 1996 in England, in a village hall, she found it boring and slow. She then found herself seduced by this ancient practice many years later in Thailand and India. However, it wasn’t until 2005 that her dedicated relationship with yoga began. She returned to the UK, after five years abroad; working and travelling. Greeted by the darkening winter months, the sad looking faces and the lack of heat from the sun, Juliette found herself in search of something. Riding the tube one day an advert for Bikram ‘hot’ yoga grabbed her attention and seemed the perfect thing to brighten up her existence and keep her physically fit.
Juliette is passionate about her clients learning to be present in each moment, allowing them to follow the wisdom of their own bodies. Her classes also focus on correct alignment, so that her clients not only enjoy the class, but their bodies also stay happy and healthy.
From Gentle Hatha to Power Yoga, Juliette has a varied practice as well as teaching style. She enjoys sharing the still and peaceful practice of yoga nidra as well as a dynamic, sweaty arm balance workshop. You will find her nature very calming, even when you experience a ‘tough’ class where you have worked every single muscle.
She also enjoys the philosophy of yoga, meditation, pranayama and mantra chanting. Though you may not always find these in her daily classes.
Why not come and try out a class and join the community.
For three whole years Juliette practiced Bikram hot yoga, every single day, sometimes twice a day. She began to see dramatic changes in her mind as well as her physical body. Having been told she should have an operation on her knees in her twenties, she surprised herself by running three marathons in succession. Bikram yoga supported not only her physical training, but also the mental training that is necessary for completing a marathon. As well as yoga Juliette teaches meditation and mindfulness classes.
Juliette says;
”Yoga has transformed my life and assisted me to stay young and fresh in both body and mind. Over the years I have studied Hatha yoga, Bikram yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Kundalini. For my teacher training I chose to study with Shivananda Yoga Vedanta as their course is highly valued. I had the privilege of successfully completing my training in the Himalayan Mountains of India, where the roots of yoga were born.”
